Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has laboured hard to provide adequate water and electricity supply, garbage disposal system and public parks in the city.

A four-lane expressway is also being built that will connect Kalyan to Virar-Vasai-Diva-Bhiwandi-Panvel and Alibag.
There is also a proposed plan of central-harbor and central-western line.
