Vastu Shastra lays down directions relating to the construction of a house and the placement of the rooms, counting the best direction for a temple in the home. Each direction has some consequence and cosmic energy. For example, the North is the direction of prosperity and success, while the South is the direction of health and sturdiness.

The best direction for introduction the mandir or temple at home is the northeast direction or Ishan kona, considered favourable according to Vastu Shastra.

Select a location for the home temple where there is no commotion or frequent movement of people. Though a separate Vastu-suggested pooja room would be perfect, this is not always possible in metropolitan cities, where there is an astronomical crunch. For such homes, you can deliberate a wall-mounted mandir or small corner mandir to suit your necessities.

East is the direction of the increasing Sun and Lord Indra so praying facing east leads to dressed fortune and growth. Requesting facing the West helps to attract wealth. Facing north helps attract chances and positivity. Rendering to mandir pooja room direction as per vastu, fronting the south when praying is not optional. Natraj the Rudra form of Lord Shiva, is the angry embodiment of Lord Shiva. So, Natraj should not be kept in the house as it can principal to unrest in the house. Never retain two Shivlings in the temple.

The idol of Shani Dev should be evaded in the temple at home. One should devote him in the temple outside the house only. Trust the idol of Rahu-Ketu in the house is measured inauspicious.

When building a home temple, you must bring into line the structure in a way that the gods face the suggested Vastu direction such as east or west, so that the person worshipping faces west or east while praying. When adoring idols in mandir or devar, avoid facing south direction due to  Vastu, it is not leisurely auspicious.

According to Vastu Shastra, the basic directions (north, south, east, and west) have a vital role to play. Besides the direction, the five essentials of nature – earth, wind, fire, etc. are also important. Each direction is related with specific characteristics. Construction of any structure in agreement with Vastu requires a thorough understanding of favourable directions. In antique times, people used to follow the sun’s shadow for directions, but in modern times, an attractive compass is useful for verifying navigational directions. There are ten directions. 

Finding the proper direction for the mandir inside the house is crucial when it comes to creating the home temple. It shouldn't be set flat on the ground. Keep it on a raised platform or pedestal instead.

Choose the northeast or east corner of your home when designing the pooja room. A tiny mandir can be built and positioned in the Vastu-recommended location.

Set aside the northeastern corner of the kitchen when using a temple.  Additionally, keep in mind that the temple shouldn't be in opposition to a wall that conceals a bathroom. Additionally, it shouldn't be placed below a toilet on a higher floor.

If you have a duplex house, it is serviceable to place the temple on the ground floor. Some people retain the temple in the bedroom or kitchen. In such cases, hang a curtain in front of the temple, when you are not using the temple. A small temple can be intended on the upper floors like the bedroom or kitchen. If there is a distinct pooja room in the house, it should be on the ground floor.

The pooja room in an east-facing house as per the Vastu plan should be intended in a way that a person faces the Vastu optional directions while praying.

As per Vastu, temple direction in home, in east-facing homes, the puja room should be situated in the north or east corner, so that one faces either of these directions while requesting. • Fresh flowers should always be used in a puja room. Skip the stale ones. After they dry out and begin to wilt, flowers should be taken from the temple in the late evenings.

• Idols, statues, and pictures: Position god images in accordance with the Vastu of the mandir. Do not hang your personal artwork in the puja room. You must also refrain from posting images of your deceased relatives or ancestors. It causes the energy of the house to become unbalanced.

• Incense sticks: By lighting incense sticks in the pooja room, a peaceful atmosphere is created and a positive energy flow is ensured.

• Holy books: Place the dharmic granths and holy books on the west and south walls, respectively. Make sure that the temple exclusively houses those holy books.

• The brass idols and Kalash should be soaked in lukewarm water with little detergent. • A clean temple at home gives off a good vibe and also welcomes Goddess Lakshmi to one's home. Next, rub lemon over it.  A lemon slice and some baking sodas are further options.

• Salt and vinegar can be used to clean copper utensils.

• Wash your diyas every day, and then use dishwashing solutions to scrape away any grease. Use vinegar or tamarind water to clean brass diyas.

• To keep silver idols sparkling, gently scrub them with toothpaste and a toothbrush. Boiling water is used to soak silverware. Aluminium foil scraps and a tablespoon of baking soda should now be in the boiling water. then discard the silverware

• Use a dry cloth to gently wipe the marble temple after cleaning it with warm water and a light detergent.

• Any glass cleaning spray and a soft cloth can be used to clean the images' glass frames.

• A cloth can be used to dust a wooden temple.
